PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Within autoimmune disorders, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), there are a wide variety of possible clinical presentations, but one feature common to almost all SLE patients is the presence of autoantibodies. Part of my work in the lab will consist of a detailed characterization of the specificity of autoantibodies to several known autoantigens in diseases such as SLE, Wegener's Granulomatosis, microscopic polyangitis, and others.
